How We Deliver Top-Tier Integrated Electronic Systems

With a team of committed professionals who stay up-to-date on all industry advancements, we offer an extensive range of commercial and residential technology services. Our expertise gives us the versatility to craft customizable technology solutions for our clients in New York, Greenwich, Westchester and the Hamptons.

Commissioning Services for Commercial Automation Solutions

At Soundworks Inc., we believe that the true measure of a project's success is in its flawless execution. Our commissioning services guarantee the final project aligns perfectly with the initial design plans, even after construction is complete. This meticulous process not only meets the highest standards of quality but also assists in energy-saving measures to help obtain LEED and certifications.

Our final audits review the successful integration and functionality of control systems, security, sensors, and AV components. While commissioning is primarily aimed at new construction, we also offer retro-commissioning and recommissioning services for existing facilities.

Consultation to Gauge Your Smart Technology Needs

All projects begin with a thorough needs analysis to understand your unique requirements. This initial phase is crucial in helping us tailor the perfect solution for your lifestyle or business. We offer an array of advanced products and solutions, including:

  • Motorized Shades
  • Home Networking
  • Home Theater Design
  • Distributed Audio
  • Lighting Control

To provide the most accurate and personalized advice, we cover your space room-by-room. In many cases, this involves a physical walk-through of your property. This hands-on approach allows us to see firsthand how you use each room and the devices in your home or business.

Innovative Design & Engineering

Our design and engineering process is where vision meets precision. We take your approved project specifications and interpret them with exacting detail to deliver the capabilities and functionality you expect. This stage is crucial as we outline hardware model numbers, prices, and all necessary labor to bring your project to life. Harnessing the power of detailed project drawings, our engineering team crafts a comprehensive plan that guides our technicians and trade partners. This plan includes vital information on low-voltage wiring, lighting loads, programming, rack location and design, and even location of all relevant devices like thermostats or sensors.

Precise and Robust Implementation

Once our engineering plans are finalized, the real transformation begins. The installation phase is where your vision starts to take shape. Installers first set the foundation with all needed conduits, low-voltage wiring, and enclosures. The last step is adding the devices themselves based on the established system plans. These include:

  • Keypads
  • Touchpads
  • Speakers
  • Shades
  • Lighting Fixtures

Our technicians are trained and certified on all requirements for our manufacturing partners. They follow all best practices and stick to our detailed plans to deliver optimal results.

Smart Lighting Control Design

We incorporate expert lighting designs into our home and business installations throughout New York and the Tri-State area. At home, this means greater comfort and convenience. At work, it creates greater efficiency and reduces your bottom line. Our dedicated lighting designer will come up with a unique layout that incorporates ambient, accent and task lighting. Then, your fixtures are grouped into specific loads controlled by a keypad or dimmer to reduce the number of switches on the wall. You’ll be able to adjust intensity and color temperature from Lutron keypads, voice commands, or mobile devices. Finally, we make it easy to pull up settings for Bedtime or Meetings through customs scenes. Everything is documented in our plans including placement of panels, wiring, keypads, dimmers, and fixtures.

Ongoing Technology Support and Maintenance

Technology systems require upkeep to work at their best, which is why all your projects get access to performance plans to perform optimally. While they’re not automatically included in our project costs, we highly recommend adding them. What is included in this support? We offer 24/7 remote monitoring and troubleshooting along with tech support, priority scheduling, and annual maintenance. And, if we hear of any upgrades that could improve your lifestyle or workflow, we’ll reach out with our top recommendations!

Expert Programming and Customization

Most of our magic happens behind the scenes as we work on your AV rack in our office. We’ll program and configure your commercial or home automation solutions to work together, providing a common language for automated shades, smart locks, climate control and more. We’ll do extensive testing within our headquarters to ensure you get intuitive control from a wide range of devices including touchpads, keypads, remotes and mobile apps. As always, programming is tailored to your needs to put the functionalities that matter most to you front and center. At this time, we’ll even work on some basic custom scenes that let you adjust your technology in seconds.

Project Management Protects Your Budget and Timeline

One of the things that sets us apart from our competitors is our commitment to comprehensive project management. Smart technology integration requires many moving parts. It is why we have a project manager to coordinate with all stakeholders to get them to stick to the existing plans while updating as-built documentation if any new work orders or changes happen. Our project management works with various groups, including technicians and subcontractors to keep them to deadlines and coordinate when needed to install security, AV, and lighting systems. This project management includes detailed expectations from each team member and regular check-ins to see if they are on track or if help is needed.

Remote System Monitoring

We know how disruptive service calls can be, which is why we will remotely monitor and troubleshoot any network or IP-connected devices. Our technicians have access to centralized dashboards to review the status on your devices and receive instant alerts if issues happen. As soon as they receive those alerts, they have documentation handy to check on lighting, climate or network components and be able to quickly identify and resolve issues. A key part of system monitoring is pushing through software upgrades and security patches, performing network performance tests, and remotely rebooting devices when needed.

Robust Wiring Infrastructure

As we mentioned, all of our projects begin with a strong wiring foundation. When starting any commercial or home automation project, the first thing we do is identify the fiber and copper wiring needed for cameras, motorized shades, connectivity, and AV performance. Though our documentation focuses on your existing needs, all our wiring installations are future-proof. We’ll make it easy to not only swap out devices for new ones but to extend the reach of your technology to other areas of the house. Our racks are methodically organized and color coded to simplify maintenance and upgrades. When needed, our team also knows how to best integrate wiring into retrofit solutions with minimally invasive installations.

Detailed Project Documentation for Smooth Installation and Management

Comprehensive project documentation streamlines the construction and installation process and helps us stay on schedule. Our team thoroughly marks up plans and documents all necessary credentials for system administration. These documents include low-voltage wiring requirements, device locations, power specifications, rack elevations, and schematic-level engineering. It serves as a crucial tool for technicians to verify that all systems meet performance standards. We share these documents with you and any relevant parties, including property managers, architects, or designers, to maintain transparency and collaboration throughout the project.
